Frontera Copper is a mining and exploration company whose principal activity is the production, through its subsidiaries, of copper cathode from the Piedras Verdes run-of-mine, heap leach, SX-EW copper operations in Sonora, Mexico. Based on the January 1, 2010 ore reserves and the estimated recoverable copper contained on the leach pad at December 31, 2009, approximately 726 million pounds of copper are projected to be produced during the remaining 15-year life of the project assuming certain economic conditions (primarily the price of copper). Existing resources and prospective exploration targets adjacent to the open-pit have the potential to extend the life of the mine.

Operations at Piedras Verdes consist of two principal activities being firstly mining ore by open pit stripping and placing it on heap leach pads for treatment with a mild acid solution which removes the copper by dissolving it in solution which is later treated to produce cathode copper. Mining activities at the Piedras Verdes operations were suspended in November 2008 due to low copper prices while leaching continued for the already-stockpiled material. In the context of higher copper prices, during October, 2009 the Company resumed mining. The Company started mining of previously blasted ore and expects that by June, 2010 production will stabilize at a daily rate of ore mined and placed under leach of approximately 40,000 tonnes. This rate will vary with the strip ratio and other factors.

At December 31, 2009, the leach pads at the Piedras Verdes Operations were estimated to contain 31 million pounds of recoverable copper.

Frontera Copper's common shares have been de-listed. Two series of debentures are listed and trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbols FCC.NT and FCC.NT.A, respectively.
