Most recently Alan held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Apex Silver Mines Corporation where he was responsible for the engineering, construction and commissioning of the San Cristobal project in Bolivia. Alan has a B.Sc., Mining Engineering and an MBA (Finance), both from the University of Arizona. He initially worked for Phelps Dodge Corporation for 15 years where he held positions of increasing responsibility, including General Manager of Operations, Chino Mines Company. From 1996 - 2000, Alan worked for Cyprus Amax Minerals Company where he rose to the position of President/General Manager of Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde S.A. in Peru. Prior to joining Apex Silver Mines, he held senior operating positions with P.T. Freeport Indonesia and Kinross Gold Corporation.   Dave W. Peat Vice President and CFO Dave Peat has over 25 years of experience in financial leadership in support of mining corporations. He started his career at Price Waterhouse and after leaving public accounting has had roles of increasing responsibility at several international mining companies. From 2002 - 2004 he was the Vice President and Global Controller for Newmont Mining Corporation and from 1999 - 2002 he was Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Homestake Mining Company. Dave has led teams in controllership, treasury, planning, tax and IT. He has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, and extensive SEC and regulatory experience. Dave is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor, Ontario and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.   Tim J. Swendseid Vice President of Engineering Tim Swendseid has over 24 years of open pit and underground experience in various management, supervisory and engineering roles with Phelps Dodge Mining Company and Asarco Inc. Most recently he was the Director of Mining of Phelps Dodge's North American One Mine organization. Previously, he worked at Phelps Dodge operations in Arizona and Chile as a Mine Manager. Tim holds a B.Sc., Mining Engineering from the Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology and an MBA from the Eller Graduate School of Management, University of Arizona. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Arizona and Idaho, a Registered Member of SME and a Member of the Instituto de Ingenieros de Minas de Chile.   Rodney A. Prokop Vice President, Investors Relations Rod Prokop received a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Minnesota State University Moorhead and an MBA in Finance from Arizona State University. He was employed by Phelps Dodge Corporation for 16 years, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in the financial area, including assignments as Director of Corporate Financial Analysis, Assistant Treasurer and Director of Investor Relations. In addition, he served as Vice President of Finance for one of Phelps Dodge's manufacturing operations headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana. From 2004 to 2007, Rod held several senior-level positions with International Capital Partners, a commercial real estate investment firm in Scottsdale, Arizona, including Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Development. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant.   Jesus Gutiérrez Director General Jesus Gutiérrez is a specialist in solvent extraction - electrowinning (SXEW) plant operation and metallurgical testing and has spent his career developing copper mining projects in Mexico. He built the first SXEW plant in Latin America at Cananea, Mexico. As CEO of the Mariquita SXEW project in Cananea, Jesus led programs which significantly increased the project's reserve base and greatly improved the efficiency of the operation. Jesus is a native of Mexico.   Joseph P. Campbell Director of Operations Joe Campbell has over 24 years of mining experience in management, supervisory and engineering roles with Inmet Mining Corporation, Phelps Dodge Mining Company, Cyprus Minerals, Cyprus Amax and Cleveland Cliffs. Most recently Joe was Director Processing at Inmet Mining's Las Cruces project in Spain. Prior to that he worked at Phelps Dodge and Cyprus Minerals projects in Arizona and Peru. Joe has co-authored several technical papers dealing with copper leaching and electrowinning processes and has led operating improvements at Phelps Dodge's Cerro Verde operation in Peru. He holds a B.Sc., Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and is a member of the SME/AIME and the Instituto de Ingenieros de Minas del Peru.
